HELPFUL TIPS TO HELP YOUR PATIENTS STAY HEALTHY AT HOME

We are sure by now that you are aware of the ADA’s recommendation recently that dental practices nationwide focus exclusively on emergency care for the next 3 weeks and postpone all routine and elective appointments.

Regardless of your practice’s current plans, it is likely that many patients will not be able to come in for their routine care at some point during this crisis. At the same time, we all know that good oral health is essential for whole body health and wellness, especially in times like these. Like you, we want all your patients to stay healthy!

Therefore, we wanted to share a few ideas to help you stay connected to your patients while also helping them maintain effective oral hygiene and care at home:

  1. Use our e-mail template to communicate with your patients and remind them to continue brushing twice a day and flossing every day (even if this is not something they normally do). Gum disease can lead to a weakened immune system and we want everyone to keep their body’s natural defenses as strong as possible. We’ve included a template for you to use below.
  2. Send all patients whose appointments need to be postponed an oral care kit from your practice. You can include toothpaste, toothbrush, floss, teeth whitening gel, and a personal note reminding them that you are thinking about them and looking forward to seeing them again soon.
  3. Make yourself available to consult on any non-urgent needs over the phone or through tools like FaceTime.

Please also know that our GLO Science representatives are standing by ready to assist you and your practice in any way they can.  Feel free to reach out to us at any time.
