If You’re JUST Using Toothpaste, You’re Doing It Wrong!

Now more than ever, people want to feel their best. Who doesn’t? And of course, that includes our oral health. When it comes to caring for your patients and doing what’s best for them, we have your back with ECO Balance. It’s a unique, proven oral health care formulation, and the clinical trial report from the study conducted at the Forsyth Institute was recently published in the Journal of Periodontology. The results are GLOing!

Everyone knows that regular cleanings, flossing, and brushing are essential to oral health, but many patients have difficulty sticking to a home regimen. Only 15% of the population floss regularly, and gum disease affects 75% of adults in the United States. ECO Balance is a toothpaste topper that offers a seamless way to boost routine oral care. It’s easy to use, and it’s effective—8x more effective, to be exact than brushing and flossing alone when used on top of toothpaste.

What is ECO Balance? ECO is a unique, clinically proven foaming gel with 1.4% hydrogen peroxide. ECO raises oral pH to promote a healthy mouth, powerful fresh breath, and whiter teeth. The first product of its kind!

  • Antibiotic-free
  • Alcohol-free (does not dry out the mouth)
  • SLS free
  • Triclosan free
  • Stain-free

“We finally have a product that keeps your gums healthy, breath fresh, and whitens your teeth,” said Dr. Jonathan B. Levine, GLO Science co-founder and inventor. “ECO Balance raises the pH inside your mouth and oxygenates the bacteria that cause your gums to be inflamed.”

Just how good is ECO Balance? Published in the Journal of Periodontology in June 2020, researchers at the Forsyth Institute conducted a randomized trial evaluating the efficiency of ECO Balance on gingival inflammation, oral malodor, and teeth whitening, and the results showed statistically significant improvements in all areas.

THE STUDY: A 60-day randomized, parallel design study was conducted on 39 medically healthy participants with gingivitis and/or moderate periodontitis (age range: 18-55). The clinical trial was performed to test the efficacy of a cetylpridium chloride-based post foaming gel containing hydrogen peroxide, sodium bicarbonate, and xylitol following a 6-week treatment and a 2-week post-treatment rebound. Since ECO Balance can be used in two ways, both were tested.

GROUP 1: ECO Balance in GLO Device (1x daily)

GROUP 2: ECO Balance on top of toothpaste (2x daily)

GROUP 3: Brushing with toothpaste (2x daily) and split-mouth flossing

RESULTS: Magic foam! That’s how periodontists characterized ECO  in the study. Here is the breakdown…

Groups 1 & 2 who used ECO Balance showed significantly reduced bleeding on probing, gingival index, plaque index, probing depth, oral malodor, and tooth shade at 6-weeks compared to baseline (p<0.05). That’s what we like to see!

Group 1, which used ECO in the GLO device, showed significantly higher reductions in BOP, GI, and PI than Group 3 - just brushing and flossing (pBOP=0.007; pGI=0.036 pPI=0.035).

Group 1 also experienced a 16x greater reduction in bleeding and plaque when they used ECO than Group 3. So not only does ECO Balance keep teeth sparkly, but it significantly elevates your oral health, too.

Participants using the formulation also saw significant reductions of periopathogens and proinflammatory proteins, in addition to reduced malodor and whiter teeth. Fresh breath, reduced inflammation, AND whitening!

You can see a summary of the study results here.

CONCLUSION: ECO Balance is game-changing. The results indicate that the foaming gel formulation significantly reduces gingivitis, freshens breath, and whitens teeth. It’s much more effective than the current standard home care of brushing and flossing. According to the Journal of Periodontology, ECO provides “people nationwide with an innovative method convenient to incorporate into routine daily hygiene.”
